“We are the ones we have been waiting for.” – Barack Obama

Democracy requires participation. For most, that means exercising their right to vote every couple years. For a few, it means answering the call to serve their community by running for office.

You don’t need to have connections or a political background to be a successful candidate. Your dedication, your values and your unique skills and life experience are what make you a great candidate.

Running for office isn’t easy. Doing it right takes a level of dedication that few other endeavors do. But for those who are willing to put in the hard work, it’s a deeply rewarding experience. Regardless of the outcome, there are few things as thrilling as leading an energized team of volunteers and connecting with thousands of voters.

If you’re a Democrat and you’ve ever considered running for office, we want to talk to you. We need good, service-oriented people on our school boards, city councils and board of supervisors. Our Central Committee is made up of people with experience in running successful campaigns and coordinating volunteers. Should you decide to run for office in Kern County, you won’t be doing it alone. You will have a team of dedicated, energetic people working hard to win your race.
